For over 20 years, Maroon Out has helped inspire the 12th Man during some of the toughest games of the year.

Tradition

Tradition

Funds raised have gone to make Elephant Walk, Junior E-Walk, Ring Dance, Fish Fest and Pull Out Day a reality. Through traditions, Maroon Out is directly impacting the Aggie Spirit throughout the year.

Scholarships

Scholarships

Every year Maroon Out helps students attend our incredible university through the Maroon Out Scholarship. Maroon Out also supports Aggieland’s original Aggie Rings for Veterans endowment, helping Aggie Veterans buy their Aggie Ring.

History

Maroon Out was founded by Class of 2000 Junior President Kyle Valentine in the summer of 1998. That year, Nebraska was a top ranked football program, and the Aggies were scheduled to play them at home. Seeing that Nebraska’s  ardent fans showed up to every game wearing red in an effort to intimidate the other team, Kyle wanted to give the Aggies that extra boost of spirit by matching Nebraska’s sea of red with an even bigger sea of maroon. Maroon Out was born that year at the Texas A&M/Nebraska game on October 10, 1998. The Aggies went on to win in a huge upset over No. 2 Nebraska. That Maroon Out game led to a national shortage of maroon shirts after 31,000 shirts were sold for the game. Now, Maroon Out sells over 45,000 shirts each year in support of Aggie spirit, traditions and scholarship. All proceeds from Maroon Out benefits go back to traditions, supporting other student organizations, and the Maroon Out Scholarship.
